Dr. John DellaBadia
We are honored to have Dr. John DellaBadia as part of the Feeling Great Sleep Center's team of world-class professionals and dedicated health care specialists.
Dr. John DellaBadia’s expertise in clinical neurophysiology, sleep medicine, and epilepsy earned him the title “Medical Director” of the Sleep Medical Centers. Dr. DellaBadia completed his neurology residency training at Pennsylvania State University in 1994 and also completed a two-year fellowship at Wake Forest University in 1996 where he honed his skills in epilepsy, sleep medicine, and EEG monitoring. He is board certified by the prestigious American Board of Sleep Medicine, the American Academy of Neurology, and a member of highly recognized medical societies.

Dr. DellaBadia was a member of the Neurology Faculty at Louisiana State University. Since 1996, he has compassionately evaluated and treated thousands of children and adults with sleeping disorders and epilepsy. Serving as the Medical Director of the Epilepsy and EEG labs, he trained numerous medical students, neurology residents, and fellows in sleep medicine and neurology. He is also an active researcher who studies the effects of sleep deprivation in children and sleep-related factors of epilepsy and circadian rhythms.
Dr. DellaBadia has won the hearts and minds of his patients and his sleep medicine colleagues who recognize that he is one of the top experts and thought-leaders in the field of sleep medicine.
As the Medical Director of Feeling Great Sleep Centers, Dr. DellaBadia provides patient-centered care and consultations for patients with all types of sleeping disorders. He appreciates and recognizes that clinical evaluation combined with a long term follow-up care plan is essential for appropriate patient care.
Dr. John DellaBadia lives in Raleigh, North Carolina – where he is an active member of his community. He also enjoys spending time with his wife and two children. On weekends, you are likely to find Dr. DellaBadia coaching – or playing – his favorite sport, baseball.
Brydon Grant, MD, ABSM, Medical Director, Pulmonary

Dr. Grant
We are pleased to have Dr. Brydon Grant, a well-known and highly respected sleep specialist, on our team as an educator for the community and staff.
Feeling Great Sleep Medical Centers has benefited from the knowledge and enthusiasm of Dr. Grant, a physician who enjoys educating other physicians, medical workers, community groups, and patients about the benefits of a good nights sleep. His medical education began at the University of London and Charing Cross Hospital Medical School where he completed his studies with an M.D. in pulmonary medicine and a Ph.D. in respiratory physiology.
Although Dr. Grant is from England, he has been in the United States for many years. Throughout his medical career, he has been involved with numerous research studies and has authored and co-authored many journal articles. Dr. Grant was a member of the faculty at the University of Michigan for four years in the Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine before moving to Buffalo, New York in 1983.
Dr. Grant remained at the State University of New York Buffalo for several years and rose through the academic ranks to become a Professor of Medicine, in the fields of: Physiology and Biophysics, Social and Preventive Medicine, and an adjunct Professor of Biostatistics. Dr. Grant's love for teaching involved numerous lectures and speaking engagements in the United States and other countries - including Russia, Brazil, and the Republic of South Africa.
While in Buffalo, Dr. Grant became interested in sleep medicine after becoming head of Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine at the VA Hospital and the University of Buffalo. Dr. Grant is board-certified in Internal Medicine with Pulmonary Medicine and Critical Care subspecialties. He became board-certified in Sleep Medicine in 2003 through the prestigious American Academy of Sleep Medicine and in 2007, he received board certification in Sleep Medicine through the American Board of Internal Medicine.
In 2007, Dr. Grant and his wife tired of the Buffalo winters and selected Chapel Hill as the ideal place to live. He obtained a position at the Veteran Affairs Medical Center in Fayetteville, NC, as the Chief of Pulmonary Medicine and Director of the Sleep Laboratory. When not working, Dr. Grant and his wife enjoy traveling to many countries to visit their children and other relatives.
Despite his busy schedule at the VA Hospital, Dr. Grant's love for education also brought him to Feeling Great Sleep Medical Centers where he participates in a broad range of educational activities. Dr. Grant and the Feeling Great staff have spoken to senior groups, businesses, and physicians about a variety of sleep topics. Feeling Great and Dr. Grant plan to continue educating the community about the importance of sleep and the prevention of sleep disorders.
Hunter Hearn, MD, Sleep Medicine Specialist

Dr. Hearn’s enthusiasm for Sleep Medicine is demonstrated by the knowledge and expertise in Sleep Medicine he shares with patients and staff at Feeling Great Sleep Medical Centers.
Dr. Hunter Hearn began his medical education in his home state of Florida. He completed a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy and his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Florida. He remained at his alma mater for his internship in internal medicine. Dr. Hearn continued his education in New Hampshire at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center where he completed his residency. While engaged in these educational pursuits, Dr. Hearn developed an interest in sleep medicine and completed a sleep disorders fellowship at Dartmouth. He is board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. He is considered an expert in Sleep Medicine by his peers.
Prior to moving to North Carolina, Dr. Hearn practiced sleep disorders medicine in Wichita, Kansas where he was Medical Director of an AASM accredited sleep center and involved in all aspects of patient care. Dr. Hearn authors a blog, The Sleep Hunter to provide educational support to his patients and the community in relation to sleep issues.
Dr. Hearn continues to care for and educate patients as Medical Director at Feeling Great Sleep Centers. Treatment compliance for sleep disorders is an essential part of patient care and Dr. Hearn focuses on helping his patients achieve success with their sleep therapy.
Returning to the southeast has been a goal of the Hearn family and they are happy about living in the Triangle community. Dr. Hearn has been asked about which blue he will cheer for, Duke or UNC; however, the only blue he will remain true to is the orange and blue of the Florida Gators.
With the continued increase in sleep disorders, Dr. Hearn is committed to making a difference by promoting patient awareness. Additionally, he meets with local physicians and specialty practices to enhance community education related to sleep disorders and sleep therapy options.
